I see in the FAQs how you can set custom start times for products. However, I know I will be out of town for 2 weekends in the summer and I'd like to block out that availability for every item in my store so nobody can rent during the period I will be away. It would be great to have the ability to manage global availabilty for all items from one configuration screen. Another way that would work would be to have a global setting that shows all catalogs and items "admin booked" for that weekend so it shows unavailable to customers.
